Katy Bartelma was appointed as the Director of the Legal Division in August 2026, having previously served as a Deputy Director and a Staff Attorney.  Beyond her service to the court, Katy was a Trial Attorney at the U.S. Department of Justice and an Instructor at New York University Abu Dhabi.  She also completed clerkships at the District of Columbia Court of Appeals and the U.S. Court of Federal Claims.  Katy received her undergraduate degree from Harvard University, and her law degree, magna cum laude, from Georgetown University Law Center.
