Becoming a Volunteer Mediator in the Court of Appeals Program

Volunteer mediators are selected by the Court. Volunteers must be members of the D.C. Bar and well-experienced in the field of law. The current roster of mediators includes distinguished senior members of the bar, professors from local law schools, and attorneys with broad experience mediating complex civil cases. New mediators are added to the roster depending upon the Mediation Program’s caseload. All new mediators must take part in a two-day training session taught by the Mediation Program staff and volunteer mediators. If you are interested in serving as a mediator, contact Chief Circuit Mediator Robert Fisher at (202) 216-7343.
