Catherine Lavender became a Deputy Director of the Legal Division in November 2019. She joined the Legal Division as a Staff Attorney in 2004. Before coming to the court, she worked in private practice and served as law clerk to the Honorable James H. Coleman, Jr., Associate Justice of the New Jersey Supreme Court. She graduated, cum laude, from the University of Notre Dame in 1995 and received her law degree, magna cum laude, from Notre Dame Law School in 2002.
