Amy Wind was appointed to the position of Chief Circuit Mediator in December of 2008. She has been a full-time mediator for 15 years and has mediated over 300 cases. She currently serves on both the district court and appellate court volunteer mediator panels. Previously, Ms. Wind had been a trial lawyer for 12 years, mostly in the U.S, District Court for the District of Columbia, and had argued appeals before the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the D.C., Fourth, and Federal Circuits. Ms. Wind has also taught mediation skills for eight years in a variety of forums including law schools, federal agencies, and the Federal Judicial Center. In addition, she has served as a trainer and mentor in the circuit’s mediation programs. Ms. Wind earned her B.A. at Scripps College and her J.D. at Hastings College of Law.
