Melissa McKenney Ryan has served as Assistant Director of the Legal Division since August 31, 1998. She began her service with the Court in 1992 as a staff attorney. Prior to that Ms. Ryan was a litigation associate at Crowell & Moring from 1988 until 1992. Ms. Ryan received her undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan College of Engineering in 1983, and worked for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency until starting law school. She graduated, cum laude, from the University of Michigan Law School in 1988.
