Tracy Hauser Scarrow has been the Special Assistant to Chief Judge Garland since he assumed the position in February 2013. Prior to that Ms. Scarrow worked as the Special Assistant to then-Chief Judge Sentelle from February 2008 until February 2013, then-Chief Judge Ginsburg from July 2001 until February 2008, and then-Chief Judge Edwards from February 2000 until July 2001. She also served in the Circuit Executive’s Office on special detail as the Acting Deputy Circuit Executive from August 1998 until August 1999. Ms. Scarrow began her employment at the court in 1993 in the Legal Division where she worked as a staff attorney. Prior to joining the D.C. Circuit, she clerked for then-Chief Judge Loren Smith at the U.S. Court of Federal Claims. Ms. Scarrow received her J.D. from the Washington College of Law, The American University, in 1992 and her B.A. from the University of Vermont in 1989.
